Hebrews 5:9 

CHRIST. “And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;”.

 The proper meaning for the abbreviation “B.C.” IS “BEFORE CHRIST.” A.D. is actually an abbreviation for the Latin words ANNO DOMINI that means “in the year of our Lord.”  In A.D. 532, a monk by the name of DIONYSIUS EXIGUUS introduced the present custom of regarding time by counting the years from the birth of Christ. Thus, the period of time during Christ’s earthly ministry would have been known as “A.D.” 

 YES! The Old Testament was written for our example, and, for this reason, we are commanded to study it!      (Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.   (1 Corinthians 10:11)   Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. (2 Timothy 3:16)   All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,(17)  that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 

 Satan was to bruise Christ’s heel, i.e.,  our sin, occasioned by the influence of Satan, would cause Christ to die for us that we might receive the atonement  (Romans 5:8-11) Jesus was to bruise Satan’s head, i.e.,  “that He, through death, might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil”  (Hebrews 2:14).
